- Circuit inaugurated in 1991 with homologation for F1 and MotoGP and which has already hosted 29 Formula 1 Grands Prix.

- 15 teams will be present at the start of the Spanish Grand Prix season.

The third season of Carrera 80's starts on the weekend of 2 and 3 April at the Circuit de Barcelona.

Carrera 80's makes its debut at the Circuit de Barcelona, in one of the most charismatic cities in Southern Europe. The season could not start in the best way, with a circuit built with all the safety specifications of a modern circuit.

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, or simply Circuit de Catalunya, will host the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix for the 30th consecutive time and is one of the most sought-after circuits for European championships due to its unique conditions for hosting teams, from the ease of flights to the proximity to the vibrant city of Barcelona. For teams who enjoy new challenges and getting to know new places and circuits, this is an excellent opportunity to start the 2022 season.

Divided into categories, there will be 15 teams taking on a single 50-minute race with a mandatory stop at the Catalan circuit.

Among the Group 1/ GRN, Nuno Breda and António Maia in the Ford Escort RS2000 want to continue the good results of the previous year and who knows, repeat the victory obtained in the Estoril race in 2021. The Portuguese duo will not have an easy job because they have the company of another Ford Escort RS2000 driven by experienced driver/preparer Ricardo Pereira. Both Ford Escorts are supported by the Porto-based RP Motorsport team. Rounding out the category is the British duo of Mark Martin and Steve Soper in the revamped Ford Capri. The fantastic performances of these cars in the last race of the 80's in Estoril, where they achieved outstanding performances in the pack, are worth mentioning.

The most competitive category is undoubtedly the T2000. In this category we have found 6 entries. The most popular model among the T2000, for this inaugural race, is the Honda Civic EG6. There are 4 Spanish teams that will present this Japanese model in Barcelona. The cars will be driven by Marc García, Dan Jiménez, Toni García and the Juan Alonso/José Antonio Zorrilla duo. Also in the T2000 category, Albert Franco and Guillermo Velasco, at the wheel of two second and third generation VW Golfs, will face the drivers of the Japanese models. The experienced driver from Madrid returns to Barcelona at the wheel of the German model after two years away from Spanish competition, while Albert Franco is making his debut in the competition, a strong challenge in this highly competitive category.

The GR2 category has two teams entered. The Spanish duo Jordi C. Roca and Jordi C. Calis will be in Barcelona with a timeless Alfa Romeo GTAm which will compete against a car that is no stranger to Portuguese fans, none other than the Ford Escort RS1800 ex-Rodam driven by Manuel Ferrão.

Also making his debut in Barcelona is Dutch driver Van Haver Bira, who presents a beautiful BMW 325i for the T-MAX category, a category dedicated to cars with more than 2,000cc displacement.

In GTCOPA, a category dedicated to Gran Turismo type cars, Carlos Beltrán returns to this competition in "his circuit" with a Porsche 964 RS NGT and will have as his direct rival for the victory in the category Pedro Bastos Rezende, in a Porsche 911 3.0 RS the Nou Onze presents a second Porsche, in this case Antonio Cubero at the wheel of a Porsche 968 CS.

For the organiser of Carreras Los 80, Diogo Ferrão, "with 15 teams at the start, we continue with the growth of this very young competition. It will undoubtedly be an exciting weekend on the track, but also off the track, with an event of great renown and in one of the most attractive cities in Europe".
