Estoril Endurance Festival by Powershield: Grand Finale of Portuguese Circuit Racing Season at the Autódromo

From the weekend of 30th November to 1st December, the Estoril Circuit will host the grand finale of the national circuit racing season with the second edition of the Estoril Endurance Festival by Powershield, promising a racing programme to suit all tastes.

Organised by Race Ready, the event will feature eight races spread across five distinct competitions. Highlights include the season-closing race of the Iberian Historic Endurance – the 250 km of Estoril, set to take place in the late afternoon of Saturday, 30th November – and the final of the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade, which will feature two thrilling races on Sunday, 1st December.

Created in 2013, the 250 km of Estoril has become a well-established season-closing event for classic cars in the Iberian Peninsula. More than forty cars are expected to line up for a ‘Le Mans’-style start and will cross the finish line at dusk, making it one of the most anticipated races for drivers from across Europe. This challenge, dedicated to GT and Touring cars up to 1976, will feature iconic machines such as the Ford GT40, AC Cobra, and Porsche 365.

With over forty cars on the track, a ‘Le Mans’-style start, refuelling stops, and a finish at Saturday’s dusk, this race for GT and Touring cars up to 1976 is one of the most eagerly awaited by drivers from all over Europe.

On Sunday, attention turns to the two 45-minute races of the revitalised Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade, where a wide range of cars from the GT4, TCR, and other Grand Touring categories will battle for the most prestigious circuit racing titles in Portugal. Leading figures of Portuguese motorsport will face competition from drivers hailing from other overseas in a championship whose significance is beginning to extend beyond Iberian borders. Dream cars such as the Aston Martin Vantage GT4, Audi R8 LMS GT4, Mercedes AMG GT4, and Porsche Cayman RS GT4 are sure to captivate the audience.

The Estoril Endurance Festival by Powershield also features support races that enrich the programme, such as Carrera Los 80, which is increasingly standing out with the 'new classics' from the 1970s to the 1990s. The grid includes some of the most captivating cars that participated in single-make trophies before the turn of the century. Spectators can look forward to thrilling battles between such diverse cars as BMW M3 and 635 CSI, Porsche 911, or Honda Civic.

Also highlighted will be the colorful multi-brand starting grid of the Single Seater Series, which will take place at the Estoril Circuit with two "sprint" races. This is Portugal's only formula racing competition, and these single-seaters are typically the cars that set the fastest lap times at national events. From wingless Formula Fords to the more modern Formula 4 and Formula Renault 2.0, equipped with aerodynamic appendages, there's a bit of everything in this moving museum that reminds us of the training ground for many current Formula 1 drivers.

To round off this grand celebration, there's the fun and competitive 2-hour race of Group 1 Portugal and the Mini Trophy, with participation exceeding three dozen competitors. Featuring cars that defined national speed in the 1970s and 1980s, it promises a memorable conclusion to both the competition and the event.

Beyond the track activities, the event has been designed for the whole family. Therefore, the paddock will include various attractions for the public, such as a food court with 'food trucks', special initiatives for classic car clubs

Access to Grandstand A is free, allowing anyone who wishes to watch the races live to do so at no cost. To access the exclusive world of the paddock and behind-the-scenes, participating in all scheduled activities, a pass is required, which will have the affordable price of £17 for the entire weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and £13 for a single day.

Both the daily and two-day passes can be purchased on the BOL.pt website or physically at any FNAC or Worten store nationwide until November 29th. On November 30th and December 1st, paddock tickets will only be available for purchase at the circuit's ticket office.

On Sunday, all races will be broadcast live on Race Ready's social media platforms, specifically on Facebook and YouTube. The two races of the Campeonato de Portugal de Velocidade will be televised in Portugal on A Bola TV and in Spain on DAZN.
