The Iberian Carrera 80 series will maintain its proven format in the 2026 season, with a calendar featuring two events in Spain and two in Portugal, a year that will mark the series’ full consolidation within the Iberian motorsport landscape.

The season will get underway during the first weekend of June at the historic Circuito de Madrid Jarama RACE, as part of the Jarama Classic programme. As Spain’s largest annual historic racing event, Jarama Classic traditionally attracts thousands of enthusiasts and their families for a weekend celebrating both classic and modern motorsport.mílias para um fim de semana dedicado à paixão pelo automobilismo clássico e moderno.

In September, Carrera 80 will feature on the bill of the second edition of the Valencia Iberian Racing Festival, where the welcoming Circuit Ricardo Tormo is set to host thousands of spectators eager to witness the machines that fuelled the early “boom” of circuit racing in Spain.

The second half of the season will take place in Portugal, with the touring car and GT competition forming part of the revitalised Algarve Classic Festival. The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve is internationally recognised, and the event has already proven its ability to attract competitors from beyond the Iberian Peninsula.

The season finale will once again be integrated into the Estoril Endurance Festival, with the historic Autódromo do Estoril providing the stage for the curtain to fall on what promises to be an intense and highly competitive year.

Remaining faithful to the “3 C” philosophy — No Crashing, No Cheating, No Complaining —, inherited from its elder sibling, the Iberian Historic Endurance, each Carrera 80 event will feature two 40-minute races, including a mandatory pit stop, with Sunday races broadcast via live streaming.

Following the positive experience of the current season, the use of Hankook slick tyres will continue to be permitted in 2026. Regulatory restrictions and a time handicap during the pit stop will remain in place to balance performance for competitors opting for the more cost-effective radial tyres.

Ahead of the season start, the Autódromo do Estoril will host another Exclusive Test Day on 20–21 March, offering teams and drivers an ideal opportunity to fine-tune their cars and prepare for the challenges of the new season.

Diogo Ferrão, CEO of Race Ready, commented: “Carrera 80 has been consolidating itself step by step as a reference series for touring cars and GT machinery from the late 1970s through to the early 1990s across the Iberian Peninsula. It comes as no surprise that we brought together close to forty different cars across the four events of the 2025 season. In 2026, Carrera 80 will stage its first event independent of the Historic Endurance platform. We will race in Valencia, a circuit and city highly appreciated by our drivers, which — due to its inability to accommodate two grids — has proven to be the ideal occasion for the Carrera 80 to assert its autonomy.”
